Here is our take on decorating offices for the holiday season, so you can get inspired to create your own holiday environment!

December is finally here! ‘Tis the season for offices to decorate, show off their holiday spirit, and most importantly, involve employees in all the festivities that are to come! With so many options for embracing the holiday spirit, JDi Data has broken down the main components of Holiday Decorating to create an unforgettable holiday office space!

Deck the Halls
Offices have a variety of options when it comes to decorating. Anything from a cubicle to an open collaborative environment, you name it; it can be transformed into a holiday wonderland.  Encouraging employees to be part of the decorating process will lead to an increase in morale as well as give them a chance to show off their decorating skills! Offices can even turn it into a game to see who is the best at decorating their space, and create excitement amongst people and departments.
With a checklist of decorations, approved for the workplace, everyone will be organized and have the confidence to bring in their personal decorations if they so choose to.
Traditional holiday decorations are:

  • Ornaments
  • Candles
  • Tinsel
  • Tree-real/artificial
  • Strings of lights
  • Poinsettias
  • Stockings
  • Ribbons
  • Holiday linens…and more!

There’s no end to the decorating possibilities! By making it a fun experience for employees to partake in, the holiday spirit will be sure to leave its mark within the workplace, no matter the level of expertise held within holiday interior designing.

Sweets All Around
Who doesn’t enjoy eating sweets during the holiday season? With so many treats to indulge in, why not spread some of them around the office?  By placing bowls of candy at your desk, you will be sure to liven up the energy and sugar level of anyone who walks by. Not only that, it gives people an opportunity to talk to their coworkers and engage one another in friendly discussions.
Some of the most sought after favorite holiday candies are:

By having an assortment of food around the office, everyone will have the chance to snack on their favorite treats throughout the day.  Not only will their taste buds be happy, but they too will feel happy and full of energy as the day goes on!

Santa’s List
Holiday cards are often the perfect way to decorate office spaces as well. Not only that, they are a good reminder to send out  e-cards to loved ones and coworkers. With many free websites offering creative and customizable holiday cards, they are sure to leave a lasting impression on those who get a letter from “Santa” this holiday season!

Jingle Bells
Santa’s elves listen and sing along to music while they work, so why not your office? During the holiday season, offices can play different songs to get people in the spirit. Just be careful not to overdo it, and avoid repeats as much as possible. By having a mix of good ole holiday songs and music genres it’s sure to create an atmosphere that everyone will be happy with. Having a list ready and spreading it around the office, so that everyone has a chance at requesting their favorite songs, will excite them as they hear music play throughout the day.

‘Tis the Season
With the holidays approaching, it’s important to create a work environment that reminds people the importance of the season. Not only about receiving, but also in terms of giving. JDi Data has partnered with Toys for Tots to bring holiday cheer to the children who are less fortunate. By involving employees in a charitable opportunity, you will increase collaborative efforts. Not only that, but the company will be able to create a stronger dynamic work environment that will grow as the New Year approaches.
